A to Z..........The Alphabet Musical

The Kindergarten classes will be presenting the musical A to Z-The Alphabet on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30pm in the Wilder Gym. Each child has a speaking part in the muscial. The speaking part assignments have been sent home. Please help your child memorize their part. Mark your calendars for this event! Invite family members to attend! Looking forward to seeing you for our performance on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30pm.

Wilder Snack Pack Program

Just a thank you to everyone who has already donated food items to the Wilder Snackpack program. Every Friday, backpacks are filled with nutritious child-friendly food which are provided to Wilder families in need at no cost to the families. Although PTA has allocated money to support this program, donations of food items would greatly be appreciated to sustain the program throughout the school year. There is a yellow drop off box near the office. Just keep in mind what would be convenient and easy for a child to prepare in addition to being healthy. Thanks so much for your support!

Schools On The Move!

Step Club is a free program for Kindergarten - 5th grade students. Wilder Walkers have been logging their minutes since October 13th. The top kindergarten walker was our very own Gavin! He walked 230 minutes, way to go!!! If you are interested in your child joining Step Club, please Mrs. Givens.

Wilder's 1st 5K Run

On Saturday, April 4, 2009 Wilder will be having our first 5K and 1 mile Fun Run. The 5K will start at 8:00am and the Fun Run at 9:00am. The run will start and finish at Wilder. The Starting Block will time the run. After the run, there will be an Environmental Expo featuring "green" games provided by the Discovery Center and City of Springfield. More information will come home about signing up for the "Green Team in Training", an after school running club which will prepare participants for the run.

Literacy Corners

Volunteers Needed!!!

In late February, our classroom will begin our literacy corners. Our corners are Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 10:00am. The corners will run for

10 weeks, February 23 to May 7th. I need three volunteers daily to help at the three corners. Our four corners included Journal Writing, Guided Reading, Sentence Making, and Rhythm & Rhyme. I will be sending home more information about volunteering. You can volunteer one day or all four days, whatever fits your schedule best. Also, younger siblings

can not attend with parent volunteer.

Please consider this 10 week commitment.
